How It Works.

The Deerpath Energy strategy uses existing street light and parking lot light infrastructure to site micro-wind turbine turbines that can feed the local grid with renewable power. The Deerpath Energy product line elegantly integrates a 2.4kW wind turbine with standard stock, 48 foot tall street lights and parking lot lights to create highly functional and spectacular looking green infrastructure assets. By intelligently siting these units in good wind locations we develop cost-effective local renewable power solutions while positively enhancing the local landscape.

KEY ELEMENTS of the Deerpath system

  • Skystream 3.7 wind turbine manufactured by Southwest Wind Power.
  • The turbine has a 12.1 foot diameter blade with a rated capacity of 2.4kW.
  • In locations with good wind resources, a turbine will generate enough power for a modest home.
  • A solid state inverter is integrated into the Skystream turbine, allowing direct interconnect into the utility grid through the existing street or parking lot light circuit.
  • No batteries or storage are needed.

YOU SHOULD KNOW

A wireless communication and control system is built in to the turbine allowing real time accounting of energy production and system performance monitoring.
